Others could have twelve. If you were a young girl and not very wealthy, you might have to stay in the house all day and help your mother make meals, clean the house, or take care of siblings. If you were a servant, you would have to collect herbs from the garden,and get fruit and veggietables from the market. Basically, you would have to collect all the ingrediants if you didn't already have them.
